SBRAUS –Sustainable bio-climatic revitalization of abandoned urban space

Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering at Mother Teresa University (Skopje, NRM) in collaboration with four universities: IUAV (Venice, Italy), Hochschule Anhalt (Dessau, Germany), University of Maribor (Maribor, Slovenia), and University of Thessaly (Volos, Greece), organizes an International Summer School within the Erasmus+ project: Sustainable Bio-Climatic Revitalization of Abandoned Urban Space (SBRAUS).

The SBRAUS project is led by the idea of strengthening the link between institutions of higher education by encouraging staff mobility and enhancing high quality and excellence in teaching, research, and knowledge transfer in the field of architecture and urban planning.

The 10-day summer school for Sustainable bio-climatic urban revitalization of Skopje Aqueduct’s open public space contains working sessions held at Mother Teresa University’s Campus, and educational trips to the city of Skopje and the city of Ohrid (UNESCO Natural and Cultural Heritage Site) lead by guest lecturers.

During the working sessions, the students, with the help of mentors from all five universities, will create urban concept ideas for further development of Skopje Aqueduct’s open public space, which will initiate possible solutions of how the selected city fragment of a cultural heritage importance can be cleaner, safer, and environmentally inclusive so that the citizens would have new quality outdoor space for recreation, socialization with environmental impact and ecological awareness.

The final product of the workshop will be the public exhibition of the student’s work, presented at the closing event of the summer school.

At the end of the summer school, participants will receive a Certificate for attendance and 3 ECTS credits.
